| Michal Garcia is a photographer and music professional from Texas - formerly based in Viet Nam and the Philippines. He studied music and film at the University of North Texas and participated in the UNT Jazz Singers, Repertory Ensemble, Zebras and other lab bands. Through those groups he has performed throughout Texas and in Colorado, New York, and California while cultivating his skills as a music photographer. In Asia, Mr. García retains strong ties with musicians worldwide, serving as a music journalist for the Pegasus News and MyDentonMusic.com as well as acting as an advocate for the arts. In this way, García has been a part of numerous collaborations including the instrumental supergroup Snarky Puppy, singer Sarah Renfro, and as a host on Dallas-based radio station KNTU FM 88.1. His credits include the South China Morning Post, Grey Group International, Downbeat Magazine, the thin line film fest, Texas Parkour, and Fashion TV. Photo credit: Jing Jiang |
